To the family of Doran Small: Doran, has been a friend from Corry Jr. High into adulthood. I am smiling now because that is how I remember him. Always positive, a good friend and just great to be around. I among all his friends will truly miss him. Please know that so many people loved him for his friendship and good spirit. ~ Frances Stevenson Howard, Raleigh, North Carolina January 05, 2011 Doran - my "running buddy" at Corry ... I miss you (as will many others) and will always cherish the fond memories! God bless you and the entire Small family. Take comfort in the following: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 NIV Greg Davis - www.Corry67.com ~ Greg Davis, Warner Robins, Georgia January 04, 2011 Doran and I established a friendship that started in the 1st grade at Dunn Ave. School. Our friendship and grew with time. There is a love and communication that exist with a true friendship that goes beyond exchanging words each day. A connection and concern that always exist from the hearts of friends. Doran was a true friend through our lifetime and beyond. I will miss him greatly and will hold many, many memories from our 58 years. My sympathy and love is extended to the family. ~ Barry Wilkins, Tyrone, Georgia January 03, 2011 May God bless and keep the great Small family in His care. To know Doran, was to love him. We have all lost a very special friend. I met him about 40 years ago while attending the University of Memphis (then Memphis State University), and I found him to be unchanging. He loved people, he had a lot of hope for the future; and he tried to make a difference in this world. I don’t believe he ever made an enemy. As I attended the funeral on yesterday, I quietly sat among those in attendance who all had complimentary remarks about Doran Small. As I looked at the expressions of many I saw nothing but smiles and laughter. He was that kind of person. Doran, go on and take your much deserved rest, and we’ll meet you in that “great getting up morning”. ~ Polly Johnson-Edwards, Arlington, Tennessee January 04, 2011 God bless the Small family.
